The Material Behind Our Sustainable Objects

NVX BioPolymer: Sustainable design starts with the material

At Novox Design, interior design is not just about form. It's about feeling. About texture. About objects that make a space quieter, stronger, or more personal. But behind every piece there is also a material choice.

That's why we work with NVX BioPolymer: a plant-based biopolymer that we use for our 3D-printed home decor, vases, coasters, stands, and interior accessories.

It's the material behind our forms.
The silent engine beneath our textures.
The reason our objects are not only beautiful to look at, but also more consciously crafted.

What is NVX BioPolymer?

NVX BioPolymer is our material name for a modern, plant-based biopolymer that is especially suitable for precise 3D printing production.

In simple terms:
it is a material that does not originate from classic fossil raw materials, but from renewable plant-based sources such as starchy crops. Bio-based plastics are partially or fully made from biological sources instead of fossil raw materials, although it remains important to correctly consider each material within its full life cycle.

For Novox, that means:
a material that suits our way of designing. Local, precise, visually strong, and with less overproduction.

What is NVX BioPolymer made from?

NVX BioPolymer is made from plant-based raw materials. Think of sources such as:

  • corn starch
  • sugar cane
  • cassava
  • other starchy or sugary crops

These types of plant-based raw materials are often used as a basis for modern bio-based materials within the biopolymer world. Bio-based plastics can be produced from renewable sources such as corn, starch, sugar cane, or wheat.

That sounds technical, but the idea is simple:
we use a material that better aligns with a future where design does not have to depend on classic petroleum-based plastics.

Why do we use NVX BioPolymer?

Because Novox Design does not want to choose between aesthetics and conscious material use.

Our products must be beautiful. Period.
But they must also fit within a more modern idea of living: less disposability, more character, more local production, and more control over what is made.

NVX BioPolymer allows us to create designs that:

  • can be 3D-printed locally
  • feel light yet sturdy
  • have a matte, tactile finish
  • are suitable for small batches
  • are available in multiple colors
  • cause less waste during production
  • fit into sustainable interior design

The material is not a detail. It is part of the Novox DNA.

Frequently asked questions about NVX BioPolymer

What is NVX BioPolymer?

NVX BioPolyMeer is the plant-based material that Novox Design uses for sustainable 3D-printed decoration and interior accessories. It is made from renewable plant-based resources and is suitable for local 3D print production.

Is NVX BioPolymer sustainable?

Yes, NVX BioPolyMeer is a conscious material choice because it is based on plant-based sources and is suitable for local production in smaller batches. This allows us to produce more efficiently and limit overproduction.

What does Novox Design use NVX BioPolymer for?

We use NVX BioPolymer for, among other things, vases, coasters, phone holders, headphone stands, soap dishes, home accessories, and custom 3D prints.

Is NVX BioPolymer the same as regular plastic?

No. NVX BioPolyMeer is a bio-based material derived from plant sources, whereas traditional plastics are typically based on fossil raw materials.

Can I personalize products in NVX BioPolymer?

Yes. Many Novox products are available in multiple colours and some designs can be customised through our customisation service.

Are Novox vases watertight?

Our vases are successfully tested for watertightness, but are primarily designed as decorative interior pieces. We recommend using them with dried flowers, branches, or as a sculptural object.

Because NVX BioPolyMeer is a plant-based material that can compost under the right conditions, we advise against prolonged water use. If used with water, the warranty becomes void, as this can eventually damage the material. For fresh flowers, we recommend a separate inner reservoir or glass insert.
